Day 6 summer 2014 – Vatican State : Renaissance and Baroque

The day started with the Vatican State where we visited visited St. Peter’s Square, Basilica and the Vatican Museums. We’ve seen the most significant cultural and religious areas of the Vatican Museums, including Pio Clementino Museum, the Gallery of the Candelabras and the Gallery of the Geographical Maps (Renaissance Art), the Raphael Rooms and the Sistine Chapel. We had some free time to continue the tour inside the Vatican Museums and later an icecream degustation to taste artigianal products and understand the art of making icecream. After that we followed a lecture on the urban development of Rome during the 19th century by PhD. candidate, Arch. Vasiliki Geropanta,  Department of Architecture, University “Sapienza”.
