Day 13 – Modern Architecture and Pecha Kucha

We visited Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Masoleum of Augusto and Ara Pacis and had a drawing session with the artist Massimo Catalani.

Later on, we followed Prof. Arch. Chiara Tonelli on her lecture that revealed all the sustainable elements and systems analysed for this prototype project. Chiara showed then the Italian projects deisgned for the Solar
Decathlon Europe, with a prototype of a house called ‘MED in Italy’, powered by renewable energy, built in Madrid in 2012 that won the third place.

In the evening we attended the PECHA KUCHA NIGHT.
PechaKucha is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each. The event has been presented by the 8 selected guest speakers. It was a social networking evening and a great opportunity to meet localdesigners, to share ideas and to make new friends.
