Day 9 – Renaissance and Baroque

In the morning we visited The Vatican State, St. Peter’s Cathedral, Vatican museum, the  Sistine Chapel.

Later in the day we had a lecture of arch. Gianluca Evels: The art history of the building in relation to the landscape, and the history of the relationship between architecture and place in the last century shows how it is long since outdated by the real situation the direct causality between human settlements and the physical landscape. Is it still possible today to trace a practical architectural aesthetics in relation to the place?
The lecture was an arbitrary overview of how contemporary architecture is moving on this issue on several fronts traceable according to some principles and practices that can be grouped
